LA LOCUST ÉROTIQUE History

La Locust Érotique # 1 November 1998 - February 2000
David N. Punkt & Magenta Netzwerk founded the band by starting to make some kind of experimental music together back in 1998. In fact, it was up to David to bring back Magenta to make music and play guitar again, whereas the band's name came from Magenta.
First and last performance of this line-up was on the 11th of December 1999 in the "AWAS"-Cellar in Bremen.
This line-up created e.g. "No Love VI" (as home recording), the disputed "Traum im Wind"  & in the rehearsal-room ("Jfh Friesenstraße") songs like "Clown", "She" or "Who am I?" , which were performed live later with LLE # 2 and forward.

La Locust Érotique # 2 March 2000 - March 2001
Immediately after Kandys Ash arrived the band, we were performing in some "cultural"tram in Bremen (18th of March 2000). Inka San joins this"Traum im Wind", reciting poems with Magenta, while David (Piano) and Kandys (with a Floor Tom) made the music (the Wind-Wheel came from a tape).
Kandys increases possibilities in the rehearsals, so now we have a violin on "She", a bass on "Clown" or drums on "Who am I?". New songs are created: "Inka Says","Hurry", "Das Totenschiff" or "Danse Lunatique".
LLE # 2 live:
Gustav-Heinemann-Bürgerhaus (Bremen-Vegesack,23th September 2000) on a Rock Against Racism-Event &
in the Schlachthof-Magazinkeller (Bremen, 1st of December 2000) as support for the Berlin Gothic Band UNTOTEN organized by "Grufties gegen Rechts" (Gothics against racism). Probably our best (with about 200 people also biggest) concert! Paranoianova joins us on "Inka Says" (playing bass) and Inka San - like already in Vegesack - on "Traum im Wind" ...

In March 2001 David decided to leave the band, heading to Cologne, but to finish the recordings for our first CD together.
The last song was "the one with that strange cschchslwkn title".

                      La Locust Érotique # 3 March / April 2001

Without David, we performed one live gig on Tinkerbell's Night / Wandelmond-Festival in Leipzig, as support for the  Italian Gothic Rock Band BURNING GATES (14th of April 2001 in the factory squat "Projekt Gießerstraße 16").
Inka San finally joins the Locust as a member, whereas Sarah Rabiata (ex- UNLAUTER) had just joined for this concert and the cellar sessions to prepare for it, before letting us alone again with our broken hearts... ;-) (the disappearance of Mr. N. Punkt).
Though lots of technical problems, there were some people in Leipzig who watched and listened to our appearance... and some even liked it!

La Locust Érotique # 4 April 2001 - July 2001
After this concert we fell into a deep depression. Kandy moves from Bremen to Hamburg, so we are weakened again by the loss of continuous practices in Bremen. Though we loose our security (which security?), we are still sticking together, trying to finish the first CD. Magenta and Inka are trying to keep the fire burning in Bremen.

La Locust Érotique # 5 July 2001 - January 2003
Since Nacho Berzerk (ex- PROVOS, Mexiko) joined the band, we felt kind of complete again. We did a new recording of "Das Totenschiff" for the CD, created new songs like "Queen Mab"  (with Inka singing), "Memories Of The Future", which is an adaption of an old PROVOS-Song (now with Kandys singing for the first time) and "finished" old songs, which were never satisfying like e. g. "Hurry", which has changed radically (with Nacho on Synth, Kandys on Violin) and sounded better than ever before.
In December 2002 we went to Spain with a small car and lots of stuff in it, to perform live in Barcelona ("Los Bloques"-Squat near Gaudi-Park) and Valencia (finally cancelled). Our first and only CD "Intro Into La Locust... Die Proberaumaufnahmen" (2002) came fresh out of production. This CD contains tracks from LLE # 1, # 2 & # 5 from 1999 - 2002 and some Spanish translated lyrics for this occasion...
Unfortunately there was a lot of arguments and trouble in our "holiday", so there was a clash and the end of all our new hopes for the locust.
"Bye" Kandys, "bye" Nacho... it's so sad! Wish you all the best!

La Locust Érotique # 6 2003 - now!
Since then, Inka San & Magenta Netzwerk still continue somehow with the project, though last year most of the time the clash in Spain hurt so much. It's still frustrating after all these years of breakdowns...

At the moment we work with more electronic stuff than ever before and are kind of optimistic again.
There'll be surprises in the future, maybe... Keep a close watch!
